Excessive Sweating

Excessive sweatiness, medically known as Hyperhidrosis, is a condition characterised by an abnormal amount of sweating that goes beyond what is necessary to regulate body temperature. This condition can affect various parts of the body, including the underarms, palms, soles, face, and other areas. Hyperhidrosis can lead to discomfort, embarrassment, and disruptions in daily life.

Why does excessive sweating occur?

Excessive sweatiness, or hyperhidrosis, can be categorised into two main types: primary and secondary, each with different causes:

  • Primary Hyperhidrosis - This is when the sweat glands are overly active without any apparent reason. It often starts in childhood or adolescence and may be localised to specific areas such as the hands, feet, or armpits.

  • Secondary Hyperhidrosis - This is typically caused by an underlying medical condition, such as diabetes, hyperthyroidism, menopause, or obesity. In these cases, sweating is often more generalized, affecting larger areas of the body.

Highly recommend Jarnah. So professional and personable and she makes sure you are given sufficient information about procedures before she proceeds. I was thrilled with the outcome of my treatment and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her as a cosmetic practitioner
